How to Draw a Realistic Tortoise - Step-by-Step Tutorial

Step 1: Draw the head first by drawing a looped line with the loopbeing towards the right. Add some small lines across it for detail.

Step 2: Draw the eye by drawing a hollow almond shape and then a circle inside it for the pupil.

Step 3: Draw a line below the eye starting from the corner of the head, for the mouth.

Step 4: Draw the front foot behind the head by drawing a "U" and curving the right line on the "U" upwards and to the left. Now add tiny circles on the foot for detail. Draw a curved line towards the left of the foot and add vertical wiggly lines on it for detail.

Step 5: Next we draw the shell which is shaped like a big almond on top and behind the foot and head. Draw a mosaic of different shapes and triangles on the shell for detail. Make sure to add a few triangular detail on the top of the shell and a few curves at the bottom part.

Step 6: Now draw the hind foot by drawing a diagonal rectangle with rounded corners at the left bottom part of the shell. Now draw three tiny triangles at the bottom of the foot for toes.

Step 7: Draw a curved line below the shell for the bottom part of the shell.
