How to Draw a Cartoon Swordfish - Step-by-Step Tutorial
Step 1: Start with the head. Draw a semi-circle extending the right side down vertically and curving it to the left. Extend the left side out horizontally and then draw a second horizontal line below connected to the tip back toward the right with a curve near the end. Draw a small curve extending diagonally to the right beginning at the curve in the top line and then curving horizontal near the end. Add in another horizontal line with a slight curve crossing the ends of both curves and ending a bit beyond the lower line. Draw a final diagonal curving line to form the bottom of the mouth that bends vertical on the right side and forms a point with the bottom curve.
Step 2: Draw a small circle just under the top most curve for the eye.
Step 3: Next, draw the long thin body, leaving a small space opposite the head. Draw in a long diagonally curved line starting at the top of the head. Then draw a diagonal line extending out from the bottom of the head to form the belly.
Step 4: Now you'll draw in the fins. Draw a curved triangle just to the right of the head along the top of the body for the dorsal fin and two thinner versions of that along the bottom of the body, one almost directly below the dorsal fin and the other near the end of the line for the belly. Add in a small triangle opposite the head along the top of the body and some horizontal curves for detail in the right fin on the belly. Then add a thin pointed loop for the side fin just to the right of the head.
Step 5: Finally, you'll draw the vertical tail fin. Draw two curving diagonal lines, one extending from the top of the body and the other from the bottom and connect them with a wavy curved line.
